A motorcycle rider suffered major injuries this morning when he was hit by a car at Mono Way and Tuolumne Road. The accident happened about 7:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist was turning onto westbound Mono Way from Tuolumne when an eastbound 1996 Mercury Tracer driven by Waer, of Sonora, ran a red light and struck the bike, driven by Miller,of Sonora. The sun was in Waer's eyes and he failed to see the light, CHP said. Miller suffered major left-leg injuries. He was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
